Mentors and collaborators continue to create excellent art

Broken Wing’s mentorship program utilizes some of the region’s most experienced and skilled theatre artists. We’re proud to showcase their work and the gifts they bring to the community.

Mentor

Allison Vincent

Allison is an award-winning performer, director, writer, deviser, and educator known for creating new works, physical theatre, and gender-bending performances. She has been honored to collaborate with companies and theaters across the Twin Cities, including The History Theater, ARTISTRY, Theater Forever, The Four Humors, Dark and Stormy, Mainly Me, The Illusion, The Guthrie, Frank Theatre, The Jungle, Sod House, Strike Theatre, Theatre Novi Most, Transatlantic Love Affair, Winding Sheet Outfit, Park Square, Playwright’s Center, the University of Minnesota, and Walking Shadow. In addition to performing, Allison is a co-artistic director and founding member of Transatlantic Love Affair, a company member of Four Humors, a former teaching artist at the Guthrie Theater and Loft Literary Center, and has collaborated as a writer on over twenty produced scripts. In 2022 Allison wrote and performed a solo storytelling show about caretaking for her father succumbing to dementia as a Pillsbury House Theatre’s Naked Stages Fellow. Recently she’s had her scripts published in The Empty Room, Rejection Letters, Dirty Girls Come Clean, and Roi Fainéant Press. She teaches at the University of Minnesota in the Writing Studies Department’s First Year Writing Program and the Theatre Arts and Dance Department. She’s the recipient of an 2023 Everwood Artist Residency and the 2023 Loft/Madeline Island School for the Arts Teaching Excellence Residency.

Denzel Belin

Denzel Belin (he/him) is a Black bisexual Minneapolis-based director, writer, actor, producer, host, and improviser. Belin is a longstanding cast member and writer at Brave New Workshop and produces the weekly open mic Stand Up Saloon at The Saloon in Minneapolis. Recent directing projects include Othello: The Remix produced by Minneapolis Musical Theater and a sold-out run of Shadows Under Wabasha produced by Hot Chocolate Media for Twin Cities Horror Festival. Denzel serves as a faculty member for the GreenRoom, an intensive training fellowship created by BIPOC artists to center and uplift underrepresented communities within musical theater. He has generated work for Mixed Precipitation, Twin Cities Gay Men’s Chorus, Fearless Comedy, Pillsbury House + Theater and more.

As an artist, Denzel values communication and a working environment where every artist feels emboldened to participate at their highest level. Utilizing improvisation and group work to generate and create, Denzel believes in highlighting everyone’s strengths to create strong and confident products.

Angela Fox

Angela Fox is an actor/singer/dancer/ choreographer with such theater companies as the Jungle Theater and Artistry and is a core member of Just Us Theater. Angela is a published composer specializing in educational music for voice and piano and musical theater, including the award winning Next: The Musical (A Sidekick Story), No Small Parts, and I’ll Be Home For Kahless: The Hallmark Parody of the Season. Angela is a vocal coach and instructor, specializing in vocal training and development, and a piano teacher for all ages and abilities.

Jenny Moeller

Jenny Moeller is a props and lighting designer, director, playwright, and theater artist working in the Twin Cities. She is currently Technical Director of the Twin Cities Horror Festival, serves on the board for Arts Nest, and is the former Artistic Director of Raw Sugar. She has worked as producer, playwright, director, technical director, designer, and builder for many theaters, including Theatre Pro Rata, Nimbus, the Minnesota Opera, Southern Theater, Theatre Unbound, Four Humors, Six Points Theater, and many others. She believes that stories make us human, and has a passion for helping others bring their stories to life.
